We are happy to announce that a highly recognized expert in health sector reform, Bruno Meessen, from The Institute of Tropical Medicine in Belgium is visiting us here in Bergen. He invites you and your network to a seminar to discuss performance-based financing of health care in low- and middle-income countries- what are they and do they work?
In his presentation, he will in particular address a new critic on performance-based financing in a newly published article here;

Bruno Meessen is an economist (M.A., Ph.D., Université Catholique de Louvain). He heads the Health Economics Unit of the Department of Public Health, at the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp, Belgium (

http://www.itg.be/>). His main domain of expertise is health sector reform, health care financing, performance-based financing and pro-poor strategies in low- and middle-income countries. His current region of focus is Africa. He is the lead facilitator of the African Performance-Based Financing Community of Practice.
