A joint initiative between the University of Bergen
and CMI – Chr. Michelsen Institute
Runa Falck (KLIMA 200, UiB), Jakob Grandin (The Collaboratory, UiB), Roger Strand (Master in sustainability, UiB) and Lea Andrea Igland Røys (Student Society, UiB) in conversation with Håvard Haarstad (Leader of the Climate Pillar and Director of CET).
The recent assessment report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) underlines the emerging climate situation, now with higher degree of scientific certainty and greater urgency. What does this mean for how we develop educational programmes and teach students in the university?
We will discuss how to rethink education in light of the climate emergency. What courses, pedagogical methods, skills and approaches do we need?
The panel debate is organised under the climate pillar of the
Bergen School of Global Studies (BSGS), led by the
Centre for Climate and Energy Transformation (CET). The debate will provide input for BSGS’s work.
This debate is part of a series of events that addresses the global challenges at the heart of Bergen School of Global Studies:
Climate,
Governance,
Health,
Inequality and
Migration.
The debate will be moderated by
Håvard Haarstad (Leader of the Climate Pillar and Director of CET).
