A joint initiative between the University of Bergen
and CMI – Chr. Michelsen Institute
Themes for 2019: Natural Resources, Corruption, Indigenous Rights and Law and Technology.
The Bergen Exchanges is a meeting place for scholars and practitioners from across the globe who seek to understand how law serves as an instrument of change – and how it shapes and is shaped by power relations. During a week of public discussions, we examine strategic uses of rights and law, and how legal institutions function as arenas for political contestation (lawfare).
The main themes for Bergen Exchanges 2019 are Natural Resources, Corruption, Indigenous Rights, and Law and Technology.
Bergen Exchanges is organised by
Centre on Law & Social Transformation. This years co-hosts and co-organisers are Chr. Michelsen Institute, U4 Anti-Corruption Resource Centre, Bergen Global, Kirkens Bymisjon Bergen, Rafto Foundation for Human Rights, and Kunstgarasjen.
